On Target is a group designed to address the challenges that children and adolescents with ADHD face. The group encourages children to recognize their unique abilities and strengths to aim high.
Each group will address core areas of:
· Building friendship skills · Developing coping skills · Identifying feelings and emotions · Taking responsibility · Utilizing impulse control strategies · Building confidence
By combining these skills and confidence in their abilities children are more prepared for the challenges they face. Groups are led by dedicated therapists who provide supportive and creative learning environment for each child. Counselors tailor the group to meet the needs of the individual participants.
Sessions are designed to run for eight weeks. However, with an open group format, children may start at anytime. Group counseling provides children with an opportunity to learn skills and practice them in a natural environment. Groups are available for children and adolescents of all ages. Participants will be grouped by age, abilities, and needs. Afternoon and weekend groups available.
