On Target is a group designed to address the unique challenges boys with ADHD face. The group builds understanding of ADHD while encouraging children to recognize their unique abilities and strengths to aim high.
Each group will address core areas of: · Building friendship skills · Developing coping skills · Identifying feelings and emotions · Taking responsibility · Decreasing impulsivity · Building self- confidence
By combining these skills and confidence in their abilities children are more prepared for the challenges they face. Groups are led by dedicated therapists who provide supportive and creative learning environment for each child. Counselors tailor the group to meet the needs of the individual participants. Sessions run for 8 weeks. Groups meet weekly for 45 minutes including a brief “take it home time” which includes parents. New participants are welcome to join at any time. Group counseling provides children with an opportunity to learn skills and practice them in a natural environment. Participants will be grouped by age, abilities, and needs.
